The best set of distinctions between AI writing and creative writing I have found. Nicholas Cole understands the difference from experience and experience is the one thing AI cannot contribute. I spent 15 years in commodity writing for newspapers. That damn near ruined my writing style but it gave me a wealth of experiences that turned a farm boy from Minnesota into a realist about the way we obtain our information and insights in the day-to-day world.

That experience was important because I learned that everybody lies...

...and it's easier to lie through conventional or commodity writing than it is through personal reflection and expression.

Cole has provided a valuable tool for those of us trying to reconcile new tech with the desire to write honestly.

Great analysis. Does the determination of Commodity content depend on context?
