I understand. For those who don't know who you are and why you are successful, it matters.
BTW, why don't you write a story about a struggling writer who turns his back on the world's advice? Instead, he struggles and triumphs on the path he defines. Think fiction meets entrepreneur meets business.
"A writer needs a spouse with a regular monthly income." That's what one of the most popular and well-known writers in my country said in a recent interview. It's a shame that this conception that “nobody makes a living as a writer” is so widespread and deeply ingrained. I support your mission.
Wow Nicolas, your piece today resonated with me. I find myself struggling to pay the bills as a writer even as a digital writer.
Your writing style, I got sucked in through your vivid descriptions. Thanks for sharing. Someday I hope to be able to say to someone "you can live well as a writer, becuase I live well too from my writing".
Nice--now edit your work...it is=it’s, but it’s different when used as in “he knew its chances were...” & I think you meant “meets” above, but you wrote “meats”--none of that is a deal-breaker, but it lessens your authority. We all need editors
I think I'm getting it, Cole. You didn't create the new category of "Digital Wrting", you are naming and claiming it so you have more "ownership" of it online. Thanks for shedding the light.
Thank you! I really related to this article. During my final hour of my Creative Writing degree, we received an 'encouraging' talk by a professor advising us to 'tell employers that you have an English degree instead, and don't expect to make any money from writing.' I was dumbfounded. I was 40 then, so a mature student, and found this attitude incredibly discouraging. It's now 11 years later, and I'm still writing, I've started a new novel, entered lots of competitions, and run a Writing for Wellbeing workshop. I don't earn money from my writing yet, but I'm definitely learning about the business side, which is something that was sadly lacking from my degree course. Like you, I'm determind to prove them wrong!
Hey Cole. Definitely a story worth reading and adminiring. Many of us have fall into the trap that writing is not worth doing. It only takes time, precious time, with no reward, only the satisfaction of writing something our mind have been thinking for a while.
Thank you for the courage to guide us into the realization that if you could do it, we all can.
Cole - I never get tired of reading your origin story. Your success is a beacon to all of us!
Funny, I think I’m tired of writing it! Haha, thanks for reading as always 🙏🏼🙏🏼

This is the first time I've read about YOUR beginning. Very motivational.

Fun to experience your creative writing and learning more about you 🙏
I love everything about this, except for the tomato soup background. It's rough on the eyes. But your writing is always amazing.
Wow! What a beautiful piece of writing! :)
I felt and experienced every syllable. So motivating!
I believe I'm in the right place to make a living from digital writing!!!

Great story, for me, it is the first time I read it, and it was an inspiration for me. Greetings from Ecuador!
I feel inspired after reading this. Thank you!
I did not have "Cole was a hockey kid" on my bingo card.
Me either! Or a body builder!
Whole new chapter!
